Job Description

PURPOSE: THIS ROLE WILL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR CREATING THE DIGITAL & DATA STRATEGY FOR THE ORGANIZATION WITH GUIDANCE FROM THE C.I.O; DEVISE & IMPLEMENT SYSTEMS, PROCESSES, WORKING PLANS, WAYS OF WORKING & STRUCTURES IN LINE WITH ORGANIZATION, BUSINESS AND FUNCTIONAL PRIORITIES TO ENSURE THAT THE STRATEGY IS EXECUTED; MONITOR THE SUCCESS MEASURES & COURSE CORRECT TO ENSURE THAT THE FUNCTION DELIVERS VALUE TO BUSINESS

 

ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES (80-90% OF THE TIME): RESPONSIBILITIES ARE DIVIDED INTO TWO DISTINCT SEGMENTS: DATA AND DIGITAL

?DRIVE DIGITAL TRANSFORMATION IN COMPANYS LEVERAGING DATA SCIENCE AND ANALYTICS

?SETUP AND OPERATIONALIZE DATA STRATEGY ?  THE STRATEGY SHOULD BE ABLE TO ANSWER SOME KEY QUESTIONS: HOW SHOULD THE DATA LAKE LOOK LIKE? WHAT PARTNERSHIPS WOULD BE NEEDED? DO WE NEED ONE DATA LAKE OR MORE FOR MFG., QUALITY ETC.? HOW WILL THE VALIDATION NEEDS BE HANDLED?

?DECIDE ON MODELLING OF THE DATA: THE INCUMBENT WILL DECIDE AND IMPLEMENT THE APPROACH FOR MODELLING OF THE DATA WHICH WILL HAVE A DIRECT LINKAGE TO PERFORMANCE AND EFFECTIVENESS OF DATA MANAGEMENT; HE / SHE WILL LOOK AT DATA LANDSCAPE, UNDERSTAND WHAT?S NEEDED AND THEN DESIGN THE SOLUTION IN A SHORT TIME FOR SCALEUP

?SYSTEMS & PROCESSES ? CURRENTLY THE SYSTEMS & PROCESSES ARE NOT INTEGRATED, NO DATA LAKE IS IN EXISTENCE AND AN END TO END POINT OF VIEW DOESN?T EXIST (FOR E.G. PREDICTIVE DEMAND & SUPPLY PLANNING). APPROPRIATE END TO END DATA ARCHITECTURE INCLUDING ETL NEEDS TO BE FINALIZED AND PUT IN PLACE.

?STREAMLINING FOR VISUALIZATION FINALIZE VISUALIZATION STRATEGY  (ONE STANDARD TOOL VS OPTIONS BASED ON NEED).

?APPLY AI/ML/DL TO EXTRACT VALUE THROUGH PREDICTIVE AND PRESCRIPTIVE ANALYTICAL METHODS. DATA ANALYSTS / SCIENTISTS WHO ARE A PART OF THE I.T. FUNCTION WILL RESIDE IN THIS TEAM

?DRIVE PROCESS SIMPLIFICATION AND ELIMINATE REPETITIVE MANUAL TASKS USING ROBOTIC PROCESS AUTOMATION (RPA)

?DRIVE IOT SOLUTIONS FOR BUSINESS VALUE PROPOSITIONS.

?360 DEG SOCIAL AND ONLINE DATA LEVERAGE INCLUDING SOCIAL LISTENING FOR MARKETING AND PHARMA CO-VIGILANCE

?THE INCUMBENT WILL BE REQUIRED TO CREATE A TEAM WHICH IS NOT ONLY TECHNICALLY STRONG BUT ALSO DEMONSTRATES STRONG BUSINESS PARTNERSHIP. DEVISE WAYS OF WORKING IN A MANNER SUCH THAT DATA SCIENTISTS WORK CLOSELY WITH DATA ANALYSTS AND BUSINESS STAKEHOLDERS TOWARDS COMMON OBJECTIVES

?ORGANIZATION BUILDING AND BUSINESS PARTNERING WHICH WOULD INCLUDE DESIGN INTERVENTIONS IN DISCUSSION WITH BUSINESS LEADERS AND USERS TO CREATE VALUE

?OPERATIONS MANAGEMENT: ONCE THE SYSTEMS, PROCESSES AND TEAM IS SET UP, ENSURE SMOOTH WORKING ON OPERATIONS. THIS WILL INCLUDE FINDING SOLUTION TO KEY ASPECTS LIKE: WITH MANY SOURCES OF DATA WHAT LOGIC IS TO BE FOLLOWED IN DATA EXTRACTION? HOW WOULD THE DATA GET LOADED? HOW WOULD THE DATA GET REPRESENTED ETC.? PROACTIVELY THINK THROUGH AND EXECUTE OPERATIONAL ASPECTS FOR SUCCESSFUL IMPLEMENTATION

?THE INCUMBENT WILL NEED TO STRIKE A FINE BALANCE BETWEEN I.T. FUNCTIONAL PRIORITIES (LIKE INFORMATION SECURITY, I.T. LANDSCAPE ETC. AND BUSINESS REQUIREMENTS MAKING SURE THAT THEY ARE BAKED INTO THE FINAL SOLUTIONS
