Roles and Responsibility :

Job Description of the Data Modeler Role


This role analyzes business and IT requirements and formulate solutions in the area of data analytics, transforming data into information and into intelligence. This role requires an excellent knowledge on spear heading e2e data integration and business intelligence solutions that warrant quality solution design.


Technical Responsibilities


?Analyze business requirements and translate into end to end technical solution with detail architecture blueprint, design specifications, data interfaces and integration approaches, infrastructure requirements, etc.

?Conduct solution assessment to determine the overall project scope, work breakdown, solution cost, implementation effort and timeline, etc.

?Must be well versed with defining the technology roadmap for setting up the Data integration strategy and developing data models using SAP Power Designer (or Equivalent data modeling tool) for operational data stores (ODS), Master Data Management (MDM) & client 360 data warehouse/business intelligence solutions

?Excellent knowledge on data integration tools like ETL (Informatica), databases (SQL server, Oracle) scheduling tools (Control-M, Autosys)

?Hands On experience in designing & implementing Slowly Changing Dimensions and well verse on the concepts of tracking history of changes in the key business attributes.

?Should possess excellent SQL writing, data exploration skills

?Must be very comfortable in delivering data visualization & BI solutions using tools  like SAS Visual analytics, Tableau or any other visualization tools

?Should have implemented projects on data quality using products like Informatica IDQ

?Must have experience in developing the data automation, devops & CI/CD strategy for the data/ETL teams. Proven experience in implementing the framework is a must

?Hands On experience in architecting or designing a big data solutions on any Cloud Platforms AWS, MS Azure, GCP, preferably AWS.


Leadership responsibilities:

?Comes with a can-do attitude and takes full accountability and ownership of the projects

?Should be a go getter and must have proven experience on navigating the organization to deliver projects as per estimated timelines

?Provide leadership to the team on all aspects of the solution including functional requirements, design, integration, implementation, deployment and hands on trouble shooting.

?Able to communicate clearly to both Senior Business and Technology Executives on the solution and the benefits

?Technically coaches and leads a team of 3-5 ETL, database & visualization experts

?Out of box thinking and must have demonstrated experience in delivering proof of concepts on new and innovative ideas to senior management

?Provide thought leadership on various data analytics solutions / technologies in the market along with best practice methodologies and industry standards.

?Conduct prototyping with the solutions and drive the requirements to closure with the business users.  Able to use ?Open Analytics? solutions for quick prototyping and then implement and operationalize with SLF technologies.




?Undergraduate degree in Computer Science, Engineering or related fields.

?Extensive practical experience in Information Technology and software development projects of which at least 8-10 years in Operational data store, data warehousing & data visualization/BI solutions.

?At least 7-9 years of experience in implementing & architecting data solutions using  the informatica, SQL server/Oracle

?At least 2 years of experience in implementing data quality solutions using IDQ or similar technologies

?At least 2 years of experience in implementing data ETL automation solutions using DevOps and CI/CD technologies

?At-least 1 year of experience in handling the migration from traditional technologies to Cloud platform for implementing data lake solution

?At least 3-5 years of experience in leading e2e solutions for Data enablement solutions like ODS, Warehousing (including data modelling and data schema design), Data Integration with ETL (preferably Informatica) and Change Data Capture, BI Reporting and/or Master Data Management.

?At least 3 years? experience in various Data Management practices including Data Governance, Data Standardization, Data Quality & Cleansing, etc.

?Knowledge of SAS platform and tools is an added advantage

?Atleast 1-2 yrs of experience in handling data visualization tools like SAS VA, Tableau to develop business insight dashboards

?At least 3 years implementation experience for Financial Services Institutions in Client Analytics, Sales & Marketing Analytics, Risk Analytics, Finance Intelligence, etc.

?Solid experience in database technologies (i.e. Oracle, SQL, DB2, etc), data / visual modelling tools (e.g. Erwin, Spark Enterprise Architect, etc), operating systems (i.e. Linux / UNIX and Windows), performing monitoring and tuning.

?Familiar with architectural terminology and awareness of architectural frameworks (e.g. TOGAF, Zachman, etc.)
