Roles and Responsibility :

The Senior Engineer / Engineer for Fairings (Polymer) is responsible for the design and development of plastic covers and cowls for scooter and motorcycle models. His release responsibility covers conceptualisation, design and development of all plastic covers and cowls ?both motorcycles and scooters ? either in-house or all external projects or all inline projects. He is responsible to resolve the development issues to meet all the agreed projects targets concerning product, timing, quality and cost beginning from the pre development phase up to EOP.


Key Responsibilities


Timely release of Design as per Project schedule, CAD modelling  , release of drawings , Verify Packaging , Prepare BOM for every drawing release

Develop  and Prepare Quality documents of Design in respect of CTQ targets, conduct DFMEA, DFA and DFM

Issue resolution for the failures reported during development of the parts, Interaction with plant and Quality Teams

To work on new ideas and new innovation concepts and strive for patents  , Check for patent infringement

Key Challenges:


1.         Deciding first time right concept design for strength,durability & fit finish.


2.         Delivery best concept model under given cost target & function balance.


3.         Implementation & Validation of new innovative ideas & technologies.


4.         Conduct DFMEA/DFM/DFA/DFS on system.


5.         To implement best practices & process for Design activity.
