Job Specifications:

Location: Manesar

Qualification: Diploma or BE in Mechanical / Automobile

Areas of Responsibility:

Development research engineer in the function of Vehicle brake performance & control for 2-wheelers

Development research engineer in the function of Vehicle handling & stability for 2-wheelers

Main taskCarryout Vehicle performance and durability tests during NPD & Engineering Change (EC) evaluation w.r.t Braking performance and Vehicle Control of conventional, CBS & ABS type of technology and Vehicle handling & stability requirmeents for 2-wheelers.

Responsible for making vehicle part modifications and proving to meet regulation limits & development criteria, Cabling & routing layout finalization - during development of model specifications & target fixing.

Responsible for planning, evaluation and implementation of VA/VE ideas in Vehicle systems like: Brake system parts, Control cables, Levers & Linkage parts. Suspension parts & Vehicle parts. Also, evaluate the effect of other system changes on own function responsibility

Coordinate with other development function groups in realizing the vehicle performance targets by optimizing & adjusting own function specifications - to meet precise user requirements

Responsible for problem solving and countermeasure development based on market feedback or troubleshooting during NPD/EC evaluation stages

Special Requirement

Should posses excellent riding skills to be able to judge the relationship between vehicle parameters effect on riding feel.

Should be conversant with vehicle assembly/disassembly and fasteners conventions

Should be conversant with national & international standards & regulations for braking performance of 2W

Relevant IndustryAny auto OEM / Testing centers / Suspension or Tyre manufacturing companies

Desired Computer Skills:

MS office

Functional SkillsIn depth working knowledge of Vehicles & interrelation between Frame & Chassis systems like: Suspension; Wheels & Tyres; Steering geometry; Weight distribution; Braking layout & leverage ratios & its effect on Handling, Stability & Braking parameters.

Good understanding of vehicle part parameters like: stiffness; dimensions; inertia leverages, etc. effect on Stability; Comfort and Rolling resistance; Braking performance like: stopping distance, wheel lock phenomena etc.

Well versed with instrumentation, data acquisition and analysis methods for basic vehicle parameters like: Speed; Linear Displacement; Angular displacement; Fasterners Torque; Steering effort & braking force/efforts etc.

Should be conversant with workshop equipment like: Welding-MIG/TIG; Drilling; Hand grinding; Brazing etc. for proto-part modification work.

Should be conversant with safety procedures for handling fuels, oils as well as well versed with riding safety practices & PPEs

Behavioral SkillsShould be proactive in thinking with "prevent recurrence" mindset

Should possess "logical and methodical" approach to work

Should be "willing to learn" and adopt new technical skills continuously

Should have "good communication skills" - both written, oral and free hand sketches
